There are a number of different approaches to our process:
· Coaching/Training a person/people within your organisation to carry out all the work – this appears most cost-effective and is excellent development for the individual, but can run up against the buffers of internal politics and role importance
· Carrying out all the work ourselves and creating all the processes for you to continue the journey once created – this is less intrusive for the organisation and gives the assurance that the audit and evaluation impacts have been assessed using robust and benchmarked processes so can be better trusted. Additionally, the credibility of an external specialist cannot be underestimation, however, whilst sometimes the external provider has more legitimacy, they rely more on delegated power to get initial attention and action taken internally
· Helping you implement a system provider if this is appropriate – bringing in an IT system can be an effective solution however, this often limits the imagination and creativity needed as systems tend to default to ‘easy to measure’ data.
